The Odder Side of Designer Fashions and Trends for Spring 2011
Every year we get a taste of new fashions for the upcoming season and we’ve talked about a few of them when it comes to designer fashion accessories. In most cases, there are some pretty fabulous looks. But there are times when we raise an eyebrow to some of those runway models. Some of these odd trends have appeared for this spring.
One of the trends popping up is pajamas for day wear. We aren’t talking lace camis or lingerie like we’ve seen in the past. This is real pajamas. Flannel, cotton, and bad matching patterns. Pajama pants are being matched with high heels, blazers, and other outdoor apparel for a street look.
Another not so feasible trend is sheer clothing. Not layered sheer clothing, but sheer tops with nothing underneath. While svelte runway models may be able to get away with this at the shows, not many people are going to have the guts to wear the trend out in public without something under it.
Flat platform shoes are also showing up. They pretty much look like unshapely wooden blocks. While they may look more comfortable than sky high heels, their lake of an arch may cause some walking problems.
